 Jeff Dodge was born and raised in a suburb of St. Louis along the Missouri, Mississippi, and Illinois Rivers. His interest in the world he sees and his love of drawing, painting, designing and making images began at an early age. It has progressed throughout a college degree and a career as an awarded corporate art director and illustrator.
In the spring of 2002, Jeff and his wife moved from Kansas City to Midlothian, Virginia. He works and paints at a home studio.
Jeff is inspired to paint by light, condition and place. He is drawn to these elements, layering them into portraits of places. They represent a collection of experiences, memories, and relationships. These places are an interplay of shapes, patterns and textures. They are woven together and are a fulfillment of listening and seeing one particular fraction of this world more clearly than another.
